Reyna’s Taqueria is a locally-owned and operated, traditional Mexican restaurant.
We use fresh, local ingredients. Our recipes were handed down from generation to generation (actually at least three generations) and we are fortunate to have learned them from cooking side-by-side with Mexico’s best chef, our Mother Doña Reyna, as she is known in the small town of Matamoros Puebla. After years of making her recipes for our friends and
enjoying hand pressed tortillas, muchas salsas, and fresh ingredients - and yes - muchas Sangrias too, our friends
encouraged us to share these dishes with the rest of the world and make mom proud. We want to continue the tradition.
The time is right, there is no better way to honor the star behind all this, our beloved Mother Reyna.

Executive Chef & Proprietor
Chef Gino Calleja is the new Executive Chef & Proprietor of Reyna's Taqueria. He has extensive experience in the restaurant industry including currently working as the Executive Chef of the popular restaurant, Siesta Key Oyster Bar (SKOB) since 2015. Previously, from 2005-2015, Chef Calleja worked as the Executive Chef for ten years at Mattison's City Grille, an award-winning and very well-known restaurant in downtown Sarasota. Before coming to Florida, Chef Calleja worked in New York City as the executive chef and Manager of three popular restaurants. “Chef Gino is a brilliant chef of superior quality and talent,” says Ms. Brown, Managing Director of SKOB. “His culinary talent and experience, business sense, management skills, and dedication help SKOB grow to the next level which includes increasing the diner’s choices of quality ingredients."
Chef Gino designed Reyna's menu and works along side his sister and Chef du Cuisine, Leticia Calleja, at Reyna's Taqueria. The Operation's Manager, in charge of the day to day management, is partner José Viera, along with their dedicated staff.
